 Glass Partition Ideas for Kitchen:

  1. Framed glass partition for kitchen:

Among all the glass partition ideas for residential and commercial kitchens, the most common one is the framed glass partition. As the name suggests, this sort of partition has metal or wooden frames in which there are glass panels inserted. These frames are mostly fixed permanently but they can also be movable if you want. The most common material used in the frames is aluminum because it’s cheaper and durable. Also, aluminum frames come in various color options and depending on the overall décor of the kitchen, you can choose light colors or dark colors if you want. Second most common material is wood but most people don’t go with wood panels because it’s expensive, it’s difficult to maintain and the shine and paint on the wood panel starts fading away after some time.

  2. Counter glass partition for kitchen:

For an open kitchen that is linked with the dining room or lounge, maybe it’s not a good idea to just add a glass partition from top to bottom. Maybe a better and more convenient option is to go with a glass counter that separates the kitchen from the lounge. This counter is usually only 3-4 feet high and it has a flat top surface which can be used as a breakfast table. In the morning, family members can sit around the counter and enjoy breakfast. For preparing the glass counter, mostly colored glass is used. This way you can make the inner part of the counter as storage to keep jars and bottles and other kitchen items and because colored glass is used, no one from outside of the kitchen will be able to look at the cabinet. This counter can be made with 0.5-0.7” thick glass panels that can support their own weight or you can also use thinner panels with metal frame.

  3. Retractable glass partition:

For a house that is not very big, it’s usually not a good idea to make multiple rooms because each new wall will make the house appear smaller and the rooms won’t be as big either. Recently, many of the interior designers have been incorporating sliding wall technology into small apartments and houses. This way when you want to create a partition, you can slide a wall into the middle of the room and instantly, the room is divided into two parts. When you don’t want the wall, you can just slide it back into the wall or a corner and the room becomes a hall. The same idea can be used for an open kitchen where you can add sliding walls to separate the kitchen from the dining area. When you want to separate the kitchen from the rest of the room, you can slide the walls and the kitchen is closed. If you want the lounge to appear bigger and roomier, you can just slide back the walls and kitchen becomes open and part of the lounge.Glass Partition Ideas for Kitchen 14Glass Partition Ideas for Kitchen 15
